The Microsoft Campus Agreement Education for Enrollment Solutions (EES) is an annual licensing program designed specifically to address the unique needs of higher education institutions. Under the terms and conditions of this agreement, all ISU students are eligible to download and have access to commonly used Microsoft software, including anti-virus protection, operating system upgrades, and Office Suites for use on their own personal computer. These packages can be downloaded from Please read the information below before downloading any software.

Due to our licensing agreement with Microsoft, some packages including operating systems (Windows) and Office may only be downloaded when the semester classes are in session and the student is actively taking classes. The student is responsible for full compliance with all software license terms under this agreement.

Your Net-ID is important because it serves as your unique identifier during your adventure at Iowa State. In fact, many Iowa State accounts to which students have free access automatically recognize Iowa State Net-IDs as login credentials.

The suite can be downloaded to your device or used as a web application. The downloadable application runs on your computer (no internet connection necessary), while the online app runs in the cloud and is accessed by using your web browser.

To make working on files even easier, you can download the desktop applications, allowing you to sync your files between your computer and the cloud. This also allows you to work online and off-line, updating as you go.

Some devices will require to be registed in order to connect to the network properly, called Network Registration or NetReg. Many Iowa State students experience daily barriers to their educational goals. Creating barrier-free access to hardware and software falls under the broad area of digital accessibility. Digital accessibility is not only the production of course materials, websites and communications in an accessible manner, it is a mindset.

Office 365 ProPlus is available for free to Iowa State faculty and staff for their personal use. To access the software, log in to Office 365, view the ProPlus license, and download the latest version of Office. This offering allows faculty and staff to install Office on 5 computers (Windows or Mac) and on 5 mobile devices of their choice. While free to all faculty and staff, the benefits of the ProPlus program will be severed when an individual leaves the university. It is the understanding of ITS that the software will continue to function in a read-only mode until the user opts to purchase a license or personal subscription. Should a new version of Office come out when the user is still affiliated with the university, upgrading to that version will be free.

Office 365 ProPlus for Students is a FREE add-on for Office 365 that the university has access to as part of the Student Advantage program. Students can log in to Office 365, see their ProPlus license, and download the latest version of Office (currently 2013 for Windows and 2011 for Mac) for free. Previous versions of the software, like Office 2010 for Windows, are also available for download. Office 365 will work on Windows, Mac, and mobile devices. Requires an active ISU email address.
